Downey Jr. portrays Victor Von Doom, a comic-accurate character who is a brand-new addition to the MCU, but surprisingly, he does not portray Doom as a distorted multiverse counterpart of Tony Stark.
The announcement was made at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024 by Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, and Robert Downey Jr. After revealing his face, Robert appeared with arms wide open.
